Macintosh Style Dining Table

Made as a reproduction in a classic Charles Rennie Mackintosh design. Made From Tassie Oak, the legs are mortise and tenon to the rails for strength in the traditional way by our skilled furniture makers. The leg design is made up of many different rebates and the profile on the underside of the table was done by hand using hand planes as the profile was too large for a router. Finished in clear vanish for a hard-wearing surface over the Black Japan stain which was chosen by the client. Part of the brief from the client was that the grain in the timber was to show thought, which was why this type of finishing process was chosen after a number of samples were given to the client.
